Orange County Children’s Doctor

Kenneth Akey, M.D., F AAP is a board-certified Mission Viejo pediatrics doctor who was formerly based in Orange County. Dr. Akey moved to Northern Idaho for two years before moving back to Southern California to be close to his children and grandchildren.

As a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, Dr. Akey now serves the Mission Viejo and Saddleback areas. In his 25 years of private practice, he has cultivated many strong relationships with his patients and their families.

Dr. Akey prides himself on one-on-one interaction with his patients. He is the only doctor employed at his practice, so he gets to know every child and every parent. This kind of interaction helps create the warm, friendly atmosphere that has won Dr. Akey multiple Patients’ Choice Awards and recognition as a compassionate doctor.

In addition to providing care for newborns, toddlers, adolescents, and teens, Dr. Akey provides:

  • Same day visits for acute sickness

Dr. Akey’s passions include developmental pediatrics and nutrition. He stresses the importance of a healthy diet to all of his patients and their parents, as they are often the ones with ultimate control over what their child eats.

He also stresses the importance of a healthy family environment, especially to parents with adolescents and teenagers. He believes that close, loving families who provide their children with a solid moral foundation give their children a better chance at succeeding later in life.

When Dr. Akey isn’t providing warm, knowledgeable care for children, he enjoys working out, being involved at his church, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
